We have been closed since March of 2020 due to the dire situation here in Peru from Covid-19. We have been supporting several jungle families that have worked with us for many years including ourselves. Myself, my wife and 4 daughters have moved to the jungle at the retreat trying to get farming started to support ourselves for the basic necessities to live. We are opening again in April to provide our valuable healing service, as they might be getting Covid-19 under control with Ivermectin in the Iquitos region where we are located. Peru has a current 14-day quarantine requirement when you enter the country. YOU CAN DO THE 14 DAYS AT OUR LODGE, the only stipulation is that you stay in the country for at least 14 days for your quarantine period. Welcome to Qhispikay Kawsay Shamanic Ayahuasca Retreat, Peru. We chose the name Qhispikay Kawsay, pronounced “Kiss-pi-KI Cow-sigh,” which means the liberation of one’s life in Quechua, the language of the Inca. Through the traditional initiatory experiences with Ayahuasca and San Pedro, also known by its indigenous name Huachuma, the journey and process become beautiful and quite complex on spiritual levels. They will liberate and elevate you to higher levels of awareness and comprehension.

Peru has a vibrant mixture of spiritual traditions that remains very much alive today. The shamans of the Amazon jungle of Peru and elsewhere utilize their sacred spirit plant medicine Ayahuasca, which enables them to transcend ordinary states of consciousness and have an effect on reality through their intention.
We have extensive experience in shamanic healing work and spiritual practices, and our combined immersion in shamanic realms equals more than 100 years, as well as 80 years consolidated time working within the ayahuasca retreat format in Iquitos, Peru.
Through our work with Ayahuasca and Huachuma (San Pedro Cactus) and the world of spirit at our ayahuasca retreat in Peru, we can lead you to a place of deeper understanding within yourself and the world you live.

On this journey at our ayahuasca retreat, in addition to working within the context of our Ayahuasca and Huachuma (San Pedro) ceremonies and with these gifted Shamans, you will also get to explore a little of the traditional people and land. You will be in the awe-inspiring Peruvian Amazon jungle, Travel back and forth to and from our Ayahuasca Retreat center on the Amazon River and some of its tributaries. Jungle hiking while visiting local villages. You will visit the Yagua Indians as they demonstrate their old dances, original tribal language, hunting techniques and you will be able to purchase their handicrafts of items the create from the jungle plants and animals. You will see the exotic plant and animal life of the jungle with an added treat as we visit Monkey Island which is a rescue center which you will be able to learn, play and cuddle with several species of monkeys. In Iquitos, Peru we will visit the indigenous museum with histories, traditional clothing, and headdresses of the natives of the jungle. Visit Iquitos which is an anomaly in the Amazon Jungle a bustling, thriving town in the middle of the Amazon Jungle which is shrouded in much mystery. Iquitos is one of the few cities in the world which no roads lead. Some call it the city of atonement. Finally, Belen Market or the witches market where shamans and healers go to purchase their healing plants and the common folk come for elixirs and a plethora of other magical items.

Shamanic initiation is the commencement of being exposed to and working with genuine shamans and the sacraments or sacred plant that shamans use to transcend ordinary states of consciousness. You will experience firsthand the opening of these realms through your initiation, so you can begin to learn and grow in the shamanic realms of awareness.
The Purge in shamanism is a form of purification which causes vomiting during the Ayahuasca ceremonies. Through the words of the ayahuasca shamans in Peru, this purge will expel negative energy from you. In shamanic terms, different issues that you experience in your life of a negative nature are forms of energy. These events will leave an energetic imprint upon you as you go through such adverse situations in your life. Through the process of participating in Ayahuasca and Huachuma ceremonies with genuine shamans, they will be able to detect and help you expel such imprints. The Peruvian shamans teach that these imprints first manifest as negative energies and afterward begin to manifest as mental, emotional, and possibly even physical imbalances or illness. From the shamanic viewpoint, the purge enables you to be free of these energies. Thus the term “shamanic purification” is appropriately used to describe this process of purgation or purification.

Trunco Ayahuascaero Don Romulo over 80 years old one of the few shamans of his caliber remaining with his son Maestro Ayahuascero Don Winister conduct our ayahuasca ceremonies. Trained in the use of Huachuma or San Pedro cactus for over 13 years experience William holds the San Pedro ceremonies.
Our ayahuasca ceremonies are excellent utilizing a traditional brew of Don Romulos lineage. Cielo ayahuasca, chacruna, huambisa, and bobinsana. Ayahuasca ceremonies lasting from six hours and beyond. San Pedro ceremonies last twelve hours with our San Pedro elixir brewed in the correct way of the secrets of the Incas.
During our ayahuasca ceremonies, Don Romulo and Don Winister begin their treatment individually on every guest making sure that everyone’s healing is complete. They also do special shamanic plant baths used in traditional shamanic practice to further your energetic cleansing.
You will meet with the shamans both as an individual to discuss your processes and also within a group setting. We make sure you have a well-rounded comprehension of the entire process. Much shamanic and spiritual wisdom is shared and learned.
Following the ayahuasca and San Pedro retreat is the beginning of the journey. There is much processing and healing continuing long after the end of the ayahuasca retreat. We are always open to assist long after you leave. Also working with a healer that can help you with your integration.
Milagros, our administrative, will be happy to help you with your hotel reservations. We partner with several hotels to make your stay in Iquitos more comfortable and secure. The hotels we work with are historical relics of a time long gone. Perfect place to relax before and after your journey.
If you use one of our partner hotels, we will provide them with all of your information, they will pick you at the airport as you arrive in Iquitos bringing you directly to the hotel. If any other arrangements for airport pickup are needed for you, we will be happy to accommodate your need. Call our office and we will organize everything.
During our ayahuasca retreat, we will explore a little of the Amazon jungle and learn about some of its medicinal plants, visit the Yagua Indians, veer the majestic Lupuna tree and hike through a local village and visit the Monkey Island sanctuary. Additional jungle walks and piranha fishing can be arranged as you desire.
Transportation to the docks by tuk-tuk and then boat transportation to and from the ayahuasca retreat center are all included. A memorable favorite part of the journey as we travel directly on the Amazon River and some of its tributaries at the beginning of this fantastic healing adventure.
All your lodging is included at our ayahuasca retreat center. The rooms are spacious and clean with each room having its bathroom and shower. The healing center is located in the middle of paradise in a section of the Amazon Jungle that is tranquil and secure.
Included All of your meals are provided at the ayahuasca retreat center. We provide delicious omnivore, vegetarian and vegan meals as well as any other dietary needs you have. Meals consisting of the highest quality fish, chicken, eggs, vegetables, grains, and some unsweetened jungle fruit juices.
