Don Winister: Maestro Ayahuasquero Shaman

Don Winister is the second master shaman of Kawsay Ayahuasca Retreat, He was born in 1964, the son of Don Romulo, the renowned Banco Ayahuasquero, and carries on his father’s legacy of ancestral knowledge and spiritual healing.

Journey and Awakening:

Winister’s journey into the spiritual world of Ayahuasca began at the age of fifteen. The years that followed were marked by rigorous shamanic dieting with Ayahuasca, broken by a brief separation during his military service.

Winister met with his father Don Romulo when he was in turmoil which led Winister to seek refuge and guidance with Ayahuasca, which he embraced as his healer and techer. This choice took him further into the jungle, away from his family, and immersed himself in strict shamanic diets growing in knowledge and healing ability. His dreams were linked with Ayahuasca spirits, foretelling his destiny as a master shaman and a beacon of hope and healing.

Winister acquired traditional medicine from his father and began on numerous diets and learning journeys with ayahuasca to master the intricate details of plant remedies under the guidance of his father.
